Vash is the protagonist of our story. He grew up in an orphanage that his parents dropped him off at, when he was 7 years old. He hardly remembers them, as they weren't ever there to take care of him. He was raised, instead, by maids that took care of the house as well. He finds it hard to trust others, as he was so callously thrown out of the lives of those who meant most to him, yet he still yearns for acceptance and love more than any thing else.

When he turned 17, he was drafted to fill a pilot position at a military base. He would work for an organization called 'Project//DOV' who was the forefront of the War with the Tribes. Having no other options, and no income, he reluctantly accepted.

His intrepidation was in vain, however, as he was a natural in the DOV's. Immediately, he acheived an amazing connection ratio (the ability to synch with a DOV) of 70%. He has fought, and trained diligently ever since.

He is Vash's senior as a pilot. Mirobu also began training at 17; the age he also received a draft to work for Project//DOV. However, he began work in the neighboring town of Merriston. It was a mining town, essential for it's iron and mithril deposits. He was one of two pilots at that base, but catastrophe struck when a large force of Zealots attacked the city. It was a massacre; Mirobu was outnumbered 20 to 1. He survived, however, through sheer luck. After the destruction of Merriston, he was transferred to Babyllon. Vash's current base.
